The Creative Art Of Tweaking Your Photos With Adobe Elements
14 May
Thanks to the latest technology, capturing unforgettable moments have now become very easy. Aside from digital cameras, mobile phones now come along with built-in cameras which make it much easier to take images and keep these precious moments. But what about those photos that you’ve taken way before digital cameras became a commodity?
Many people can get really discouraged and disappointed with plenty of images taken with still cameras due to the bad quality of the picture. Even if you have managed to find the negatives and have them reprinted, if the images were poorly taken to start with, having it reproduced will be useless. But that doesn’t mean to say that these couldn’t be restored. Using easy elements of Photoshop, you’d be able to enhance the quality of the photos and keep the memories alive.
Below are a few great ways to adjust your pictures with simple elements from Adobe Photoshop:
Cropping
You look fantastic in your high school prom image, but you would rather forget that guy standing right next to you. By using the crop tool, you can be able to keep a copy of your high school prom photo sans your ex-sweetheart. After scanning the picture and opening the file in your Photoshop, drag the cursor while holding down the left button in your mouse to pick the area that you want to keep. Then simply click Picture and choose Crop. You will be left with the selected area of the image which you’ve highlighted.
Fixing the Angles
If your little child tried to take a photo and it came out a bit tilted, you can realign it in order that it comes out straight. Simply select the measuring tool located in your menu toolbar on the left side of your screen. Click on one horizon of the image that you would like to re-align and then dragging it the cursor to the other end. This would repair any minor misalignments. If it still looks a bit off, click on the canvas option and rotate it on the canvas until you’re satisfied with it. The program will automatically expand the canvas to fill-in the empty spots.
Colour Touch Ups
If the lighting caused the image you took to come up a tad bit too orange, you may also fix this by modifying the colors on the image. Go to Image then choose Adjustments and then Colour Balance. It would open up a menu that would enable you to fix up the colours of the photo. Just drag each cursor right or to the left. Since Photoshop comes with a preview feature, it would permit you to see the changes as you drag the cursors to help you make the image come as close as how you remember it.
Sharpen
The most common of all photos taken by film cameras is that often they tend to look a little bit blurred. To enhance the details of the shot, choose the sharpen feature in the Filter option on menu bar. The program will automatically sharpen the details of the image a bit at a time. Continue the whole process until you are satisfied with the details of the whole image.
